Peter Pruett is the Superintendent of Zoo Idaho and is a swell guy for the most part. Peter is a graduate from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Biology. He has spent his career working both in academia and as a professional zookeeper. His travels have taken him from Iowa to the Tulsa Zoo, Oklahoma State University, The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Zoo Atlanta, the Lake Superior Zoo and Zoo Idaho. Peter joined the Portneuf Greenway Board in late 2015. He is also a member of the Idaho State University Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Peter has two wonderful daughters, one in Pocatello and the other in California. Both have decided that zookeeping will be their backup profession in case their chosen path does not pan out. Peter is quite ok with this.
